This Memorial Day (Monday, May 26, 2025), the Grosse Pointe communities will unite in solemn remembrance, hosting two heartfelt ceremonies in Grosse Pointe Farms and Grosse Pointe Woods. These long-standing traditions offer local residents a chance to reflect on the sacrifices made by military heroes who gave their lives in service to our nation.

  • May 22 at 7 PM: Our Community Salutes – Michigan’s only statewide event honoring high school seniors enlisting in the military

    • Preceded by a resource fair (6–7 PM)

President & CEO Maria Miller emphasizes the value of honoring service:

“To spend an hour commemorating those who served is a great way to start Memorial Day… especially as we recognize the Vietnam veterans who were not welcomed home.”
