Grosse Pointe Woods, Grosse Pointe Shores, Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe City, MI Community

The City of Grosse Pointe Woods is tuning up for an unforgettable season with the return of its beloved Music on the Lawn concert series in 2025. Hosted on the beautiful municipal grounds, this series promises three evenings of live music under the stars: June 27, July 25, and August 22. More than just a concert series, these events serve as a celebration of community spirit, where families, friends, and neighbors gather to relax, reconnect, and revel in great music.

A Special Night for a Milestone Celebration

This year’s July 25th concert holds special significance—it will double as the official 75th Anniversary celebration of Grosse Pointe Woods. In honor of this milestone, the city has planned a memorable evening that goes beyond music to honor the rich history and bright future of the Woods.

“We wanted to create something special for our 75th year,” shared the event coordinator.
“Music has always brought our community together, and this anniversary concert will honor our past while looking toward our future.”

Attendees can look forward to a lineup of live music designed to entertain all ages, reflecting the diverse musical tastes of the Woods’ multigenerational community.

What to Expect at Each Concert

Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early with lawn chairs and blankets to claim a perfect spot on the grass. Whether you’re bringing the whole family or meeting up with neighbors, the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere makes for a perfect summer evening.

Light refreshments will be available for purchase, but many residents bring their own picnic baskets filled with snacks, sandwiches, and beverages (non-alcoholic only, per city guidelines). The concerts typically begin in the early evening, allowing families to settle in and enjoy the sunset soundtrack together.

More Than Music: July 25 Anniversary Highlights

To celebrate the city’s 75th anniversary, the July 25 concert will feature a series of extras, including:

  • Historical displays chronicling the evolution of Grosse Pointe Woods

  • Commemorative giveaways

  • Special recognition of past and present community leaders

“This isn’t just a concert—it’s a celebration of our community’s identity,” says Mayor Smith. “We invite everyone to be part of this historic event.”
