Halloween in the Grosse Pointes is gearing up to be one spirited celebration in 2025! From costume parades to lakeside festivals, the five cities that make up this charming community are ready to bring the Halloween spirit alive with family-friendly fun, creativity, and a touch of spooky charm.

Halloween in the Park – Grosse Pointe Park

The season kicks off with Halloween in the Park on Saturday, October 25 at Windmill Pointe Park in Grosse Pointe Park. Families with little ones aged ten and under can expect an enchanting adventure trail filled with candy, toys, and fall cheer. Time slots are available at 3:30, 4:00, and 4:30 PM, giving every mini ghoul and goblin time to stroll the decorated picnic grounds. Tickets are $15 per child and can be purchased online through the Grosse Pointe Park Recreation Portal.
Kids will love the final stop where they can pick out a pumpkin and a doughnut to cap off the afternoon. If you have extra Halloween spirit to spare, the city is also accepting volunteers and sponsors for the event. Each booth and trail station brings the park to life with color, laughter, and plenty of sweet treats.

Halloween Spooktacular – The War Memorial, Grosse Pointe Farms

Just across town, The War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms will host its annual Halloween Spooktacular on Sunday, October 26 from 12 PM to 3 PM. This afternoon bash combines history, magic, and merriment in the scenic Alger House and its lakeside lawns. Attendees can expect indoor trick-or-treating, a pumpkin patchstage shows, and even a Halloween Harvest Magic Show. Music by Kevin Devine will fill the grounds while kids tackle crafts, decorate apples, and enjoy glitter tattoos. Adults can sip spiced cider at the cash bar, while everyone feasts on hot dogs, pretzels, and those famous War Memorial cookies. Tickets are available at warmemorial.org/events/spooktacular.

Legends of Fall – Grosse Pointe Historical Society

Tips to Make the Most of Halloween Parades and Festivals

  1. Plan your costume early. The Grosse Pointes love creativity, so whether you’re joining the trail at Windmill Pointe or dancing at the Hallows’ Eve Masquerade, bring your A-game costume.

  2. Bundle up comfortably. October nights by the lake can be brisk, so layer up. A warm cape or cozy scarf will keep the chills at bay while you parade or trick-or-treat.

  3. Bring community spirit. These events thrive on volunteers, friendly faces, and local support. Offer to help decorate a booth, hand out candy, or chaperone the kids’ trail.

  4. Take photos early. Sunset comes quickly, and the lighting at golden hour is perfect for family photos by the water or among the pumpkins.

  5. Be mindful of parking. Arrive early since many of these landmarks, especially the Ford House and War Memorial, tend to fill up fast.

Whether you’re chasing candy trails, donning masks, or soaking in stories under the stars, Halloween 2025 in the Grosse Pointes invites everyone to celebrate big. The community’s creativity, history, and lakeside beauty make it the ideal place to enjoy Halloween weekend with plenty of fun for both kids and adults.
