Meet the Crew (Spoiler: They’re Really Good at This)

Dr. Samantha Buchanan—also known as Dr. Sam—leads Pointe Acupuncture. She’s a doctor of Chinese Medicine, a passionate nutritionist, and the kind of practitioner who actually listens. Her journey includes over 8,000 hours of study, stints in California, Hangzhou (China!), and enough functional medicine know-how to help you connect the dots between daily habits and how you feel.

But Dr. Sam doesn’t do it alone. There’s Rachel Kotwicki, who brings Ashiatsu (barefoot massage!) to a new level of deep relief. There’s Jessica Davies, whose specialties include acupuncture for migraines, women’s health, and hard-to-describe life transitions. They’re joined by Dr. Amandine Afonso (the wizard of facial acupuncture and healing skin concerns), plus resident qigong teacher Kate Patterson and client-turned-gut-health-guru Helen.

Not Your Average Needle Party

Let’s talk treatments. Acupuncture at Pointe is all about finding the root issue and giving your whole body a pep talk—through ancient techniques and a few new gadgets. The lineup includes classic acupuncture, targeted electro-stimulation, fancy facial sessions that leave your skin glowing brighter than your best selfie filter, and holistic microneedling for those ready to level up their skin game.

Feeling tense? Try fire cupping or gua sha (the ultimate cheekbone reveal), book an Ashiatsu massage for a walk-on-the-wild-side bodywork session, or go for therapeutic light therapy paired with a crystal mat. Each option comes with thoughtful recommendations for diet, herbs, and supplements, so the feel-good vibes keep going long after you leave the office.

Services treat just about everything you’d put on a wellness wish list:

  • Anxiety, depression, and insomnia

  • Chronic/acute pain, sports injuries, arthritis, migraines, digestive drama

  • Fertility and hormonal imbalances

  • Autoimmune symptom support, allergy relief, and immune health

  • Oncology support, neurological issues, fatigue, and more

Yoga Pants Optional: Qigong

Curious about qi? Every Sunday at 10am, Kate leads a Qigong class right at Pointe Acupuncture. All levels welcome. Comfortable clothes are recommended. You might find relief from tightness, aches, anxiety, or just discover how satisfying it feels to slow down intentionally. Try one class for $25 or grab a five-pack and make it a weekly thing.

Membership Has Perks (and Puns Available)

Health is cumulative. Pointe Acupuncture’s monthly membership program ($300 per month) includes three acupuncture sessions, plus 15% off all products and individual treatments. It’s a clever way to make self-care less “someday” and more “right now.” Memberships don’t roll over, but they do keep you motivated, and they’re available with a 12-month commitment (drop in or call to sign up).

If you prefer à la carte, there are package deals for bulk-buying your wellness sessions and saving some dollars. Cosmetic and microneedling fans can get treatments as needed—without any pushy upsells.

Shop Like a Wellness Insider

Pointe’s retail shelves and online shop are a real-life treasure chest. Need an immune-boosting tincture? Seed cycling blends? A little Korean vegan kimchi or maybe some grounding pillow mist? There’s wellness chocolate, blue tortilla chips, balms, botanical serums, and the kind of face creams you hide from the rest of the family.

Supplements come with guidance—thanks to thoughtfully crafted Fullscript protocols. Your body, your plan, your pace.

Yes, They Work With Insurance

Alternative care shouldn’t feel mysterious when it comes to payment. Pointe Acupuncture is in-network with Aetna, and we are happy to provide “superbills” (that’s a fun word for receipts insurance companies like) for others. FSA and HSA cards work for medical treatments and supplements, too.

Listen to the Neighborhood Buzz

Clients rave about transformative care, a team that “knows their stuff,” and treatments that make pain, inflammation, and the blues noticeably lighter. The cherry on top? The staff’s ability to translate ancient holistic wisdom into real-world advice—no mystical jargon, just practical wellness you can groove with.

Why Wait? Say Hi

Questions are welcome. Street parking is easy. The staff genuinely wants to help you sort through options, whether you’re browsing apothecary goods or booking your first acupuncture session.

Swing by for vibes that balance playful and peaceful, a team that loves what they do, and a menu of services designed for all bodies, backgrounds, and curious minds. There’s always room for one more in the Pointe Acupuncture community.
